  No RSVP required. To avoid the crowd in Rhododendron Festival on the first Saturday of November, we will visit Blackheath for it's wonderful display of Rhododendrons and Azaleas. I have also noticed in the previous years, rhododendrons bloom much earlier than the official Rhododendron Festival date. Start with a coffee in one of Blackheath's fabulous cafes. Visit
Campbell Rhododendron Gardens. Have lunch in one of the many places in blackheath or bring your own.

| Private property access has been arranged. Park at GR 790 997 on Long Ridge Trail and descend into a gully to the east. Leave the gully at around GR 797 998 and traverse counter clockwise to a spectacular Long Ridge Point. Next, climb out to the tip of Long Ridge East and then walk back to the vehicles. About 6 km.
