Canyon off Petries Gully and Mount Tricky. This walk includes a visit to the unnamed canyon of Petries Gully in another attempt to shed more light on the mysterious infrastructure contained there. It also has many more exciting features. There is no guarantee of success, but if the planned route works, this may become an iconic Wollemi walk. Park the vehicles at the Newnes Campground. Follow the access track for the Pipeline Track, then head west up the unnamed canyon. After climbing through the main constriction, atempt to find a way to the tops at around GR 433 272. From here, proceed to GR 421 274 (top of descent) via Mt Tricky. Depending on the available time, we might visit one or several lookout points along the way. Use the known pass to come down to the Newnes Campground. Scrambling and exposure.
