 Start at Newnes Campground and follow Pipeline Track till about GR 446 272. Walk SW to a glide block at GR 444 271, then descend south into the Crater. Explore that area and try to ascend back to the tops at about GR 442 268. From here, move on to Petries Slots. Find a descent into Petries Gully at about GR 439 277. Hazards: Scrambling and exposure.
