The Colo River Gorge of course! On this particular walk we will experience the outstanding beauty of what is essentially the lifeline and heart of the Wollemi wilderness, the stunning Colo River and in particular the section between Tootie Creek and Meroo campsite. Expect long sandbanks, clear, tranquil pools, the exquisite Tootie cascades and lots of peace and quiet with only birdsong and the rivers gentle sounds to keep you company, as well as you're hiking friends of course. I plan to take a flotation device and float along past the scrubby bits and suggest everyone does the same offtrack walking along the Colo river with scrambling at times.
