(Postponed) Morong creek with its series of spectacular falls and cascades is one of the gems of the Kanangra Boyd national park and on this walk we will follow its downward path as its plummets down to the picturesque Kowmung River. On the way we will savour its beauty, go for a swim and do the same when we reach the river at the bottom. This is really wild country and with its pink and grey granite boulders, the Morong creek is truly an amazing place for those with an adventurous spirit. A wonderful walk through bush, heath and rocky platforms above cliffs with spell-binding views, Beginning at Bundeena we walk past the Balconies and Wedding Cake Rock and on to Marley Headland for a spectacular view down the coast, before retracing our steps. (NEW!!!) Start from Port Kembla Inner Harbour boat ramp car park (eastern end of Foreshore Road). Walk to the end of the eastern breakwater then back to Red Point via MM beach and Fishermans beach. A steep climb to the top of Hill 60 and down to Port Kembla pool. Coffee and cake at Rach's and back to the car park. Limit: 16. View

(Nearly fully booked) Meeting at Circular Quay Wharf 5 at 9:40am to catch the F8 ferry to Birchgrove from where we will walk mainly around the foreshore of the Balmain peninsula and conclude at the London Hotel (1870 - one of the longest operating pubs in Sydney) for lunch in a private room overlooking the city. (Nearly fully booked) When the heat of Summer is upon us, where do we go to escape the heat? The Colo River Gorge of course! On this particular walk we will experience the outstanding beauty of what is essentially the lifeline and heart of the Wollemi wilderness, the stunning Colo River and in particular the section between Tootie Creek and Meroo campsite. Expect long sandbanks, clear, tranquil pools, the exquisite Tootie cascades and lots of peace and quiet with only birdsong and the rivers gentle sounds to keep you company, as well as you're hiking friends of course. I plan to take a flotation device and float along past the scrubby bits and suggest everyone does the same offtrack walking along the Colo river with scrambling at times. There is plenty of room for all to have a wonderful view of the harbour, Access to Strickland House estate is via the gates on Vaucluse Road. Gates open at 5.00 pm.     Limit: 18. View

When the heat of Summer is on theres no better place to go than the cooling and spectacular Erskine creek with its superb giant pools and refreshing cascades to relax in and chill out. This is one of NSW most loved coastal walks and rightly so as you pass so many beautiful features along the way including several beaches which will be welcome as swimming stops as we hike south to the loverly beach town of Gerringong. I'm hoping for a warm Summers day so we can refresh ourselves with a dip or three. Location: Kiama Coast Walk Limit: 20. View

Rocky creek canyon is the classic canyon and is regarded as an entry level wet canyon as it does not have any abseils but does have several short swims with the longest being about 30 metres. The scenery in this canyon is unparalleled as its sculptured walls are regarded as the best you'll find anywhere. On this trip I plan to do the full length and climb up the exit track which means we won't have to double back and climb up the cascades. Participants should have the following gear, helmet, wetsuit, drybag, PFD if you are not a proficient swimmer. Corkscrew canyon is in the upper section of South Bowen creek drainage system and is a relatively easyish canyon to do as it does not involved any abseils or long swims but rewards the curious hiker with stunning constricted passages, sculptured clifflines, gorgeous cascades and pools and the chance to see an area not all that often visited. (NEW!!!) Mermaids pool and Tahmoor gorge is a delightful circuit walk that takes you past numerous cascades and swimming holes where you can escape the heat of late Summer. On the last two occasions I did this walk it rained so we couldn't complete the entire walk through the most spectacular part of the gorge. The Broad Swamp to Birds Rock walking track is part of the 30kms plus Gardens of Stone great walk and is the last section of this track to be finished so of course I am keen to experience it. The track passes through various vegetation types and includes some spectacular viewpoints along the way including a show stopper lookout into Carne creek. This walk is all on tracks but I may go offtrack for a short distance to climb the odd pagoda which would be optional of course. Location: Gardens of Stone SCA Map: Cullen Bullen 89313N Limit: 20. We start our hike along the Tramway trail, passing various old miners dwellings now being overtaken by nature and head west until the trail ends and we then follow the ridge along to Blacks Corner. Sounds deceptively simple but along the way we will encounter more pagodas and slots than you can imagine as well as some almost parkland sections of grassy lomandra until we reach our objective, Blacks Corner. (NEW!!!) What this walk lacks in distance it more than makes up for in terms of variety and pure enjoyment as there is much to see and savour in this not often visited part of Wollemi national park. Along the way you'll encounter some of the best and largest swimming holes you could hope to find, gorgeous waterfalls and cascades and stands of towering trees in a rainforest environment. Add to these features, some extraordinary tafoni enriched sandstone caves, rock wells to play in and a hellva lot more.
