One of the reasons I want to do this walk is because of the bountiful displays of wildflowers you encounter on the track at this time of the year in the height of Spring. Last time I ventured along this trail the wildflowers were breathtaking and I see no reason to believe this time it will be any different! Expect lots of stops along the way to photograph the blooms and the spectacular scenery around Jerusalem Bay and on the wonderful Taffys Rock. Location: Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park Limit: 20.

Length |

This is one of the most challenging sections of the Great North Walk, passing Berowra Waters ferry, with steep, uneven ascents and descents. The walk starts down a firetrail, with some interesting sandstone caves and overhangs, then descends into a valley before crossing Joe Crafts Creek. Some fairly steep sections have iron
rungs to assist with the descent to Berowra Waters. We follow the creek then start climbing on steps hewn into the sandstone, to a firetrail and there’s a short break and photo-stop at the Naa Badu Lookout before completing the long, steady ascent to Berowra Station.
More suitable for regular, fit walkers, especially now that warmer weather is here. Bring plenty of water. Joint walk with Bush Club. Uneven, rocky tracks, muddy after rain. Steep ascents/descents requiring stamina and balance. Very good fitness needed: Cumulative 880m ascent/510m descent. It is Grade 3+ Limit: 15.
