Mermaids pool and Tahmoor gorge is a delightful circuit walk that takes you past numerous cascades and swimming holes where you can escape the heat of late Summer. On the last two occasions I did this walk it rained so we couldn't complete the entire walk through the most spectacular part of the gorge. Lets hope this time we have good weather! rock hopping

Paddle | A canoe or kayak tripFrom Basin View Boat Ramp, we will cut across to the head of Wandanian Creek where we will explore upstream. From around the 6km mark we will look out for a suitable lunch spot. For those interested we will paddle further upstream until we reach the Princess Hwy before heading back.   • New Event EHT 12:30pm Tidal. Deep water. Possible wake from motorboats. Participants are to provide their own craft & are required to wear a correctly fitted PFD.

I booked the following coach: 6:45 leaving central 10:15 arriving Canberra 6:30 pm leaving Canberra 21:40 arriving central cost: $18 When we arrive Canberra, we’ll catch a bus to the War Memorial, the starting point of the walk. Walk takes about 3 hours. Then it’s free time. Catch the 6:30 coach back to maximise the time in Canberra. The walk is  Mount Ainsley Lookout To RSVP, please book your own coach fare. If the promotional fare for 6:30 is exhausted, your can book an earlier coach that still has the promotional fare. Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long60 Best walks | This is one of the NPA's 60 best walks.Photography | A trip that has a strong focus on encouraging people to capture photographs.(NEW!!!) The Broad Swamp to Birds Rock walking track is part of the 30kms plus Gardens of Stone great walk and is the last section of this track to be finished so of course I am keen to experience it. The track passes through various vegetation types and includes some spectacular viewpoints along the way including a show stopper lookout into Carne creek. This walk is all on tracks but I may go offtrack for a short distance to climb the odd pagoda which would be optional of course.

Paddle | A canoe or kayak tripFor the full (23km) trip we will launch from Audley. Those wanting a shorter (17km) paddle will launch from Swallow Rock Reserve, Grays Point. We will make our way down Hacking River and up SW Arms Ck and into the RNP to the head of waters where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we will take a short walk to Winifred Falls for a possible swim before heading back. • New Event 9:00 for a 9:30 launch at Wants Beach, (near Reids Flat Picnic Area), Riverside Drv , Audley. OR 9:15 for 9:45 launch at Swallow Rock Reserve, Grays Point Tidal. Deep water. Possible wake from motorboats. Participants are to provide their own craft & are required to wear a correctly fitted PFD.
