Starting from Staples Lookout on Woy Woy Rd, we'll head first to Kariong Brook Falls, which should be quite a spectacle after the rain. From there we'll head for Mt Wondabyne (251m) and enjoy 360 degree views of the surrounding countryside. Then we'll head back towards Staples Lookout, finding a suitable spot for lunch on the way. This will be at a medium pace and all walkers MUST BE COVID DOUBLE-VACCINATED. Joint walk with The Bush Club. Some eroded tracks after rain

Springtime is upon us, and this walk will showcase a bounty of wildflowers that only the Sydney sandstone region can achieve. We will follow the eastern side of Girrakool Creek down over Piles Creek before heading south over Scopas Peak, then the Hawkesbury Track, the old Woy Woy Road, past the scout camp and back along the Western Girrakool circuit to the start. Expect lots of scenic lookouts, beautiful waterfalls and of course, masses of wildflowers, including waratahs.
