The most spectacular display of glow worms in Blue Mountains is found at Burralow Creek . It is Australia’s answer to New Zealand’s Waitomo Caves. The rock walls around Bulcamatta Falls are inhabited by thousands upon thousands of glow worms. It’s like standing in the middle of a galaxy surrounded by billions of stars.
Starting from Burralow Creek campground, we walk once during the day so as to familiarise with the route in day light. Then we have a break to set up camp or to check in at accommodation, then have dinner before we walk in the dark to see the Glowworms. Allan is planning to camp. Philip is planning to stay at Archibald Hotel at Kurrajong. Camp ground is available at Burralow Creek. Booking is walker’s own responsibility. You must commit to both day and evening walks before RSVP. Bright headlamp, preferably with red light, with spare batteries is essential for your safety. If you arrive with no headlamp, you will be turned back. Next day, we will do some other hikes, maybe Mount Tomah and Mount Banks before heading home, depending on weather.... how much rain and state of trail.. Crossing creek. Limit: 9.
