Gardens of Stone: In Focus Photographic Competition Walk: Upper East Creek, East Creek Gorge and Dobbs Drift. Take part in this exciting event and help save the Gardens of Stone! The Gardens of Stone: In Focus Photographic Competition will give you a rare experience of capturing some of the best of this region through a camera lens. Discover this wonderland and have a chance to exhibit your photographs in an exhibition at a prestigious venue in Sydney. This specially designed photography walk will take you to an Endangered Ecological Community (Newnes Plateau Shrub Swamp, Upper East Creek), then to two iconic locations - East Creek Gorge and Dobbs Drift. It features pagodas, caves, cliffs, views, and forest. Part 1 - Upper East Creek: Distance: +/- 1km; ascent/descent: +/- 60m. Part 2 - East Creek Gorge: Distance: +/- 1km; ascent/descent: +/- 60m. Part 3 - Dobbs Drift: Distance: +/- 1km; ascent/descent: +/- 40m. Walk access is suitable for most 2WD. The walk is on the fire trail, and also has short off-track sections; more off-track if you choose to explore the area further. Numbers are limited, so book early.
