 Park vehicles on the Wolgan Road at about GR 412 208. Head east, climb up to the old Wolgan Valley Railway alignment and traverse some of the Old Coach Road. Head into a deep tributary of Penrose Gully, then up to the tops to connect with the Tiger Snake Canyon Track at about GR 431 190. Follow the track north for a while, then make our way to the top of the Penrose Slot. Descend the slot and then inspect the bottom of Penrose Canyon. Walk down Penrose Gully to re-connect with the cars. Hazards: Scrambling and exposure. Partly exploratory. Map: Ben Bullen
