28 Feb, Fri 9:17AM Crossing The Blue Mountains
Grade:3/6 Length 12km  300m Sydney Branch
Esther
Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.The 1813 crossing of the Blue Mountains was the expedition led by Gregory BlaxlandWilliam Lawson and William Charles Wentworth, which became the first successful crossing of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales by European settlers.  Mal January did not exactly follow the original route but mapped out his hiking route and led a group to cross the Blue Mountains twice.  Thanks to his generosity for permitting me to use his route, we can repeat this epic journey to cross the Blue Mountains. We are walking in reverse direction so as to take advantage of the cooler climate in upper Blue Mountains in the summer months. Autumn colours will be beautiful. We take the 8:24 Blue Mountains train every Sunday, with some exceptions. A certificate of completion will be awarded to walkers who complete all the 15 sections. If there are certain sections that you are not available, let me know. You may be able to pair up with another person to complete them on different dates. Pink Flaannel flowers seeds  need a fire and rain to germinate. We had both. Let’s see if we can find some. Steep and slippery sections.
